Dublin Parlour Design Competition

The brief for this competition was to design a new public civic space adjacent to Dublin’s Point Depot O2 arena. The brief described this new space as the ‘living room’ of the city.

Our response to the brief was to propose a space which could be used for outdoor performance as well as an urban park for leisure.

We designed a stage structure which could be closed down to become a place for advertising upcoming events.

The form of the stage becomes a focus point within the landscape which also incorporates static translucent screens, creating visual breaks which could be moved around the space to accommodate various event.
